KASKO brings together theatres, festivals, art schools, performers, creators, and self-taught artists from various disciplines in projects that engage with relevant and societal themes.

This cross-disciplinary theatre company builds a bridge for graduates between their education and a sustainable professional career by initiating projects that support performers in their development as creators and offer them the opportunity to build a professional network. Over the next four years, KASKO will present a new production each season, rehearsing and residing in eight different theatres and touring across Dutch theatres and festivals.

The artistic direction is in the hands of Hendrik Aerts. Hendrik is a pioneer in bringing together different disciplines in this way. He creates sustainable collaborations with theatres and arts education institutes, who, together with KASKO, help realize the projects. Through his work as a regular teacher at ArtEZ and his active role in the arts field as a director, he feels a strong urgency to break down barriers between the theatre world and education. To move beyond boxes and well-trodden paths, and to invite the people he works with to step outside their comfort zones. He creates an artistically challenging environment with the aim of encouraging all those involved to explore new sources and expand their creative potential.
