Nic Bruckman and Hendrik Aerts (artistic director of KASKO) first collaborated in 2020 on Blackbird – Rebirth, for which Nic translated the text. In 2022, at Hendrik’s request, he wrote a new play, Narrow Spaces, based on a novel by James Purdy. For KASKO, he will write PARADISE CIRCUS ISLAND in 2025 and PARADISE CIRCUS LOVE in 2026. Nic studied at the University of Oxford and Central St Martin’s in London. He translates major societal issues into interpersonal drama, exploring topics such as the chemical weapons industry and the criminality of masculinity. His work is an exploration of the shadowy terrain between desire and power.
